For people of all ages, to sit and listen to a story in the old oral tradition is an experience both fleeting and deeply grounding, a chance to see our beautiful world through childish eyes, and permit the imagination to find its voice. This is the time to pause in our busy lives and pay homage to something archaic, something untamed.

Since 2016 I have been telling stories for all ages. I have told stories in so many different places in England and South America… around the campfires of indigenous communities in Patagonia and the Amazon; in theatres and cultural centres of the Peruvian cordillera; on the radio in Ushuaia; and in a range of schools in Ecuador and Chile, including schools for children with SEN and visual impairment… to name just a few. I have also sung in countless bars, town squares and buses around South America. More recently I have begun to lead workshops to coax the imaginative voice out of children who have rarely, if ever, encountered the vast ocean of artistic creativity before.

‘Entertaining. Original. Delightful’ Helen, England

‘Keeps you intrigued, eyes wide open waiting to hear how the story goes on… that story told around the campfire, with everyone’s hearts beating fast wanting to know how it ends’ Diego, Chile

‘Very sweet, very beautiful. I felt as thought I was in the story, as though you had spoken directly to me but in the form of a metaphor’ Loana, Germany

‘Spectacular’ Carlos, Colombia

‘I could listen to Amita’s stories all day. They transport you to so many different wild and vivid realities’ Aonghus, Ireland
